Transferring Ownership as the Seller
If you have sold a registered Irish horse, please follow the steps below for transferring ownership.
Within thirty (30) days of the sale, post the registration papers to the Registrar at the following address:
PO Box 717
(We recommend using registered post for secure delivery.)
On the back of the registration certificate, fill out the details of both the seller (old owner) and the buyer.
If your horse’s certificate does not have this option on the back, please contact us immediately for further instructions.
Important: Do NOT give the horse’s registration certificate to the new owner.
The old owner (seller) is responsible for paying the transfer fee, which is $70.
This fee covers the new single membership for the buyer (if applicable) and the transfer of the horse. If the buyer is already a member, there is no need to pay the membership fee.
By completing the transfer of ownership, you ensure that all records are updated accordingly and avoid any liability for a horse that is no longer in your possession.
If you have any questions or require further assistance regarding the membership and transfer of ownership process, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
