STEP THREE - Pedigree Registration for All Irish Horses

To complete the registration process for your Irish Horse, please carefully follow these instructions:

Take Photos of Your Horse:

Photos of your horse are required and should include the following:

Side-on photos of the nearside and offside of the horse.
Head photos capturing all facial markings, including wide blazes if present.
A photo of the back of the horse.

If your horse has any additional prominent markings that require close-up photos, please email them separately.

Pedigree Registration Submission Form:

Please fill in the below submission form with your horse’s details, including uploading the photos you have taken of your horse and the ID form that the vet filled out.

Ensure that the ID Form is scanned and saved as a PDF file.

If the non-Irish Sire and/or Dam of your horse is registered with any recognised Breed Society, please include a copy of his or her pedigree and/or registration papers.

If he or she is unregistered, leave this section blank.

Please note that this information will be reflected in your horse’s registration. We will not research your horse’s correct pedigree, if you do not help us.

Include a copy of the Stallion Covering Certificate obtained from the stallion owner, OR a Vet Insemination Report if applicable. If you do not have this, please contact the Society prior to filling in the form.

Once your registration submission is received and processed, the registrar will send you an email containing the electronic Pedigree Registration Certificate. A hard copy certificate will follow in the post.

Branding your horse:

Once you have been notified that your horse has been pedigree registered, you are very welcome to have your horse branded with the Society Shamrock Brand. You will find the request for the brand to be posted to
you under other services, on the services tab above. This can be done prior to the Registrar posting your Pedigree Registration Certificate. If you do not wish to have your horse branded, please alert the Registrar to avoid your certificate being unnecessarily held.
